A well without water...

What's a well without pure water? purity gives life its grace; what's a person with no smile? just another person's face. But a smile brings out one's beauty, it's lies dormant until then; and the mind itself is hidden, with a smile, a mystery ends. What's a heart without some love? love needs nothi...

Man's glory...

Venus stands with Jupiter, in the darkness before dawn; the moon is playing peekaboo, before the sunrise song. The wind-swept clouds are fleeting, I feel its force upon my face; and marvel at the sky-scape, and the touch of God's great grace. Mars is but a reddish dot, a faint image in the night; wh...

Time's blur.

Dying days of fall, imprinted on my mind; rain and fog and color, of a subtle, gentle kind. The coolness of the morning, the wind that scatters leaves; the passing of a season, so quick, it almost flees. The frost will come too soon, and goblins will appear; Thanksgiving, Christmas day, a then...a b...

What is love...?

What is love but the meeting of two minds? discovering joy, the selfish never finds; enjoying daily, a loving warm embrace, kisses showered upon the other's face. To know that she will stand right by your side, to know that he, from you, will never hide; to share the happiness that now, you've found...

Lord, remember me when I have lost my way, when darkness dims the light of everyday; when I struggle, to keep it all together, keep me on that straight and narrow measure. One day for you Lord, is like a thousand years; You gave us ample time, to nullify our fears. To make the choice to live, and forever banish death; to honor You with praise, until our last, great breath. To shed this carnal flesh, and with Spirit, worship You; to be the sons of liberty, and transfor...

Re: Autumn's charms.

Thanks Stella,
I have to believe that your Yorkshire countryside is quite similar to that of New England, especially Vermont. Pastoral landscapes.
The above was written with the northern Arizona forests and mountains in mind. Alas, no horse chestnuts or maples here.

Autumn's charms.

In autumn, the aspens turn to gold, against the Ponderosa pine; snow-capped mountain peaks, in the sun's glare; they shine. Deer come down into the meadow, in quiet search of food and heat; startled by the stare of humans, they, on occasion, meet. We are captured by the magic fall, by the pleasant s...

Where you can find it...

Take love where you can find it, in time, it soon is past; let's hope it is the type, that will stay and last. Take kindness where you find it, it seems a rarity; the comfort of a friend, stops the insanity. Take joy where you can find it, oft times, just sadness rules; happiness comes in bunches, l...

My new shadow.

The green grass dies, the flower fades; death now comes in clumps, mocking beauty made. It waits with bated breath, invisible to most; it cares not who's the victim, or unsuspecting host. The grass is for a moment, the flower's gone too soon; the coyote howls at heaven, the wolf cries at the moon. T...

Thank you for this day Lord, of life, of health and love; I feel it coming gently down, from sun and star-filled skies above. Mid-September break.

Mid-September, at midday; the random breezes blow; sunlight dispels the gloom away, in summer's fading glow. Clouds are artful things above, they make an artist want to paint; things of nature I so love, today, there is no taint. On the porch, I sit and read, and relish in the warmth of day; reflect...

He didn't float, like a butterfly, nor did he sting, like a bee; he looked out of place, ungraceful and clumsy. But he had a punch, that could put you away; and as a contender, he looked to stay. He rose in the ranks, with his old 'Suzy Q"; just how good was this guy? nobody knew. Then he took ...

You'd think that I'd be over you, now that our days are done; the days of sweet surrender, in the dying of the sun.
