Saying farewell is never easy, and we tend to hold on to and nurture the pain of loss overly long, Stella. As Joseph noted, this sadness applies whether the separation is a voluntary one or not (breakup, death, or even just when our children leave the nest). A beautiful and poignant write, Ma'am.
