Once, I lost my hearing,
but I never lost my mind;
I once lost all my teeth,
now, I've the other kind.
My eyesight is just so-so,
but glasses did the trick;
atop, I have a bald spot,
that's one thing I can't lick.
I used to lose my temper,
but the anger wore me out;
then I found my peace with God,
and what life is all about.
There are obstacles in life,
that we all can overcome;
we can rise above it all,
lest we become undone.
With patience and with practice,
we can cast the bad away;
and live to see tomorrow,
for what it has to say.
