Enid Blyton’s Magic Faraway Tree

If I could hold onto your heart
I'd wrap it with my wand'ring smile
To adorn it with rich red rose
and sit with you and rest a while.

I'd catch each single diamond tear
with bucketfuls of precious love.
We'd watch it swirl with glory's grace
and see it blessed by Saints above.

I'd pull stars’ glitter from the sky
see how it reflects green of tea.
Let Enid Blyton take us up
to her glimm'ring faraway tree.

She'll help us reach the tippy top
the Land of Dreams awaits us there.
Her teapot filled with our green tea,
we'll drink the tea and watch just where

Leaves rest upon our tea cup's base
as patterns in the cup take form.
She'll tell us why our tea leaves rest
and how tree's spirit can transform

Our hurting hearts so we believe
there is a child within us all.
As branches outstretch to the sky
each curled wee leaf will grow and fall.

Some leaves are greener than the rest
leaves need the time to turn to gold.
Yet, poets grow and learn the craft
as nurtured grace can then unfold.

Fairy of silk and Moonface beams
the Saucepan Man to bang and beat.
Open her book and then grow down
just once and bask in magic's treat.

We'll whoopee her name from rooftops
and show it in our poetry.
If reader’s don’t know they’ll look up
Enid’s name to preserve her tree.
