A Time for Everything

A time for everything they say
yet everything comes with age,
creaking joints, vagueness of mind
and eyes dulled upon the page

Yet I know I have blossomed
in finding that which I had passed
in the art of the old masters
which I appreciate at last

And the poets, oh the poets
whose words meant naught to me,
now I cry in awesome wonder
that such beauty there could be

Peacemakers spreading Godly love
to which I only ever gave a sigh,
but now I see their inner strength
I no longer question why

A time for everything they say
yes I know that it is true,
for everything has a reason
and ageing has one too.

I can really relate to this poem of wisdom and the beauty we behold as we grow old. A most beautiful write indeed Stella.

This is so beautiful. I love the saying in the picture you've posted with your poem...very true. Growing old is way better than the alternative.
