Evensong
and twilight flickers
gently, as candle flames
praise stained glass windows
Saints smile
kindly down, Blessed Virgin
beautiful in blue; your Saviour
waits patiently, arms outstretched.
I pray,
hold you with my own strength.
In whispered compassion
ask the pain to cease,
breathe you in
and cry.
