Take me back.

Postby drllrd74 » Thu Dec 10, 2015 2:44 am

Take me back to childhood,
when the love was all around;
when friends and families gathered,
when there was pleasant sound.

When relatives were friendly,
there were hugs that did abound;
when we sang carols after dinner,
when cheerfulness was found.

Take me back to my hometown,
when all our love was nourished;
when snow fell every Christmas,
and happiness did flourish.

When families stayed together,
thru the rough times and the good;
when we laughed beside the fire,
that burned with seasoned wood.

Take me back to older times,
when we cherished all the giving;
and love exploded all around,
by the reason of our living.

A beautiful picture of family life back then - - wishing for times when happiness flourished. A lovely read..
