Just For You Poetry

I know that love can lose its luster,
by some things we say or do;
by indifference to all others,
by things that aren't thought through.
I know that hope can fall to pieces,
by the obstacles we face;
by roadblocks on our journey,
by life's strong, endless pace.
And I know that dreams can die,
by the absence of desire;
by the truth that is not spoken,
by someone else's ire.
But to those that overcome all things,
there's a goal worth waiting for;
there's a light behind the darkness,
that promises much more.
And for all who persevere,
there's a prize that will await;
there's a treasure to possess;
once past that final gate.
