AN EYE FOR AN EYE

 "His eye is on you" ..Mavis said
It's settled on your chest
It must have popped right out his head
When you put on that vest

Both his eyes were darting round
and then you caught his eye
The other dropped onto the ground
Got crushed by passers by

The eye you caught, then rested on
The bum of Auntie Pat
She shared a couch with Uncle John
And squashed the bugger flat

Today , he doesn't see that good
And never even tries
To ogle things he never should
He just turns two blind eyes

In later life he lost his teeth
And such was his demise
He lost all of his self belief
Without no teeth or eyes

And thus the phrase ...an 'eye for eye'
Or 'tooth for tooth'.. forbade
The chap from swapping, as.. forsooth
He had none left to trade  :?

Great poem. The third stanza is my favorite. Your poems are always fun to read.
