Ice Maiden.

Postby drllrd74 » Fri Feb 05, 2016 1:39 am

You remind me of an iceberg,
exposing little, hiding quite a lot;
you keep your secrets underwater,
with what you've learned,
what you've been taught.
You've an independent mode of living,
that answers not, to any man;
but drifts along in deep seclusion,
lost in the darkness of your plan.
A hermit in a throng of many,
solitary, strong and smart;
you've no need of much emotion,
that leaves behind a broken heart.
You're entwined with your own pleasures,
cocooned within your private web;
you sail along in your own splendor,
in quiet waters, without an ebb.
I think that ice is your misgiving;
you cling to your great frigid past;
thinking you could never melt,
that like forever, you will last.

Nice metaphor used. I always find iceberg to be an object of interest.

Maybe more mysterious than icy, a great metaphor you have used for this secretive lady with a seemingly cold exterior...

I, too, love the metaphor you chose. I love the line, "you cling to your great frigid past." Great image.
