The Optimist.

Never see tomorrow with misgivings,
never see the past with sad regret;
have no qualms about the present,
because your expectations are not met.

Be content with treasures that you have,
faith in God, your family and your friends;
good health, life's simple pleasures,
undying love you know will never end.

The gentle quiet of a peaceful morning,
the softness and early glow of sunrise;
the whiff of perfume on a springtime day,
the cooing of the doves, the eagle's cries.

The blue of heaven, now white with clouds,
the rain that falls, lightly, on one's face;
the laughter of the one you love beside you,
the refreshment of her warm embrace.

Be glad for now and whatever comes hereafter,
bask in the sunshine and the shadows of the day;
savor all the happiness that comes along,
and whatever else may come your way.

i always try to see the positives in everything David and encourage others to do the same, pessimism is a slow long unhappy road.
Thank you for your encouraging words :)

Stella,
Thanks for the comment. Your are so right. Pessimism is a worthless road to follow.

This is a lovely poem with great advice. It's good to remember to count one's blessings. Enjoyed the read.
