Found In A Library Book (a trijan refrain)

I came upon a written note
On page one forty-four,
On which someone had slyly wrote
To one he did adore
He scribbled there, a sentiment.
I'm sure he felt a clever gent.
He scribbled there...
He scribbled there...
Undying love and grand intent.

His worship rests there on the page
Though I don't know the year
That it was written, or what age
He messaged, honey dear.
I wonder if he loves her, still
For he had said, "I always will."
I wonder if...
I wonder if...
His declaration fit the bill.

No matter what, the words remain.
They're on the page to stay.
As though he meant them just same,
They claim his love today.
His love is there for all to see
Right after page one forty-three.
His love is there...
His love is there...
"I always will" will always be.
