Empty Sits The House (a Stellanette)

Empty
Sits The house
Empty

Left to crumble too long now, abandoned.
Cracked concrete smiles up through rogue grasses
Like a timid welcome from the sidewalk.
The house sits
Empty.

Lonely
Seems the house
Lonely

Gathering small drifts of dust and insects.
Collecting filth on its stained glass windows
Like a feeble attempt to fill the void.
The house seems
Lonely.

Sad
Seems the house
Sad

Too many dark corners in voiceless rooms.
Too many turning seasons have gone by.
Sometimes rain drips from the eaves like bleak tears.
The house seems
Sad.

Quiet
Is the house
Quiet

Only the sunlight moves across the floors.
Though perhaps there's an occasional creak,
The house sits and waits...swollen with silence.
The house is
Quiet.

:D A wonderful Stellanette poem Cindy, penned with ease as it flows beautifully and the repetitions help so much with the imagery..lovely

A poignant write, very well expressed.
