Just For You Poetry

If was asked, do I know you?
I'd say, once upon a time;
when I was young and foolish,
and poems just didn't rhyme.

When words were less regarded,
than what they are...today;
when I dodged all your barbs,
and brushed them all away.

When love was not defined,
by matters of the heart;
and everything we had,
just seemed to fall apart.

When happiness was crushed,
by things we never prized;
and all the lame excuses,
were fed by all your lies.

If I was asked, did you know her?
I'd say, only for a time...
when ignorance was bliss,
and love was not a crime.

I love this. I can feel the broken heart. It's melancholy in a very relatable way. I especially love the last last two lines.

I can relate to this David, often love is blind and foolishly so but eventually we do learn this sad lesson..
