Forever There

Postby ShelleyA » Tue Jul 05, 2016 7:33 pm

By rainbow colored skies at break of day,
hear sounds of creatures stirring from their rest
as birds begin to twitter songs so gay
in joyful praise to God by whom we’re blest.

Creator of all beauty on the earth,
to see the grace You give us through rebirth;
we lift our voice to You in fervent prayer,
forever thankful You are always there.

Form: Rispetto

A beautiful Rispetto prayer Shelley.

I enjoyed the "Rainbow coloured skies" in the opening line, it set the theme for the whole poem as we do look to the skies for inspiration.. :)

I have included this form in the list of "How to understand poetic forms"...

This is a beautiful poem and a lovely form. There's so many forms that I've never heard of before. Interesting.

A beautiful poem, and prayer Shelly. The imagery is beautiful, and fits so well in the 10 syllable lines. Loretta

I'm glad you enjoyed it Loretta. You can write this form in iambic pentameter or iambic tetrameter. It's a fun form to write. Thank you for taking time to comment. Much appreciated.

Beautiful and comforting... "you are always there", a lovely morning prayer.

This was so beautiful it touches the heart - have to admit I know nothing about iambic pentameter or iambic etc just write from the heart how I feel at the time, not a true poet in the sense of the word but find pleasure from writing, and reading. Singing is my great love.
Excuse mistakes on last post blind in left eye ad sometimes don't see mistakes will really have to read before sending = so sorry
