I never asked for love
it slapped me in the face;
before the other day,
I was lost in my own pace.

But then she came along,
like a bolt, out of the blue;
and I was lost in beauty,
and by dreams I never knew.

I never asked for romance,
but then you showed the way;
that opened up the doors,
to love's enchanted play.

To days that fostered happiness,
to nights that promised joy;
to all contented hours,
embraced with love's employ.

I never asked for love,
it was thrust right in my face;
but I wouldn't trade it now,
for something in its place.
