The Caress ~ haibun

Postby Stella » Sat Aug 20, 2016 9:25 pm

Image
I sat on the harbour wall watching the setting sun
bleed red into the ocean, and then the glow of twilight
bless the boats as they gently pulled and bobbed about
in their lazy, sleepy way.
You came to me in the fullness of a midnight tide, ran
your kindly fingers through my hair, kissed my tired eyes
and then you were gone again in a moment as the tide
turned and began to ebb away, even before i could reach
out the angels took you back home again.

red flames of sunset
so transitory yet warm
an evening caress

Beautiful and sad. I love the bittersweet essence of it.

A beautiful write and skillfully crafted haibun. Vivid imagery. Deep expression of emotion. Poignant. Well penned and a much enjoyed read. Write on.

So much emotion as if you are reaching out with both arms to keep the picture forever in you heart and as if from a dream you wake. A lovely write enjoyed it so much - and the picture was awesome
