The Torture of his Heart

Postby Adette » Wed Oct 05, 2016 10:09 pm

She gave him everything
All he’d ever dreamed off
Woman’s overshadowing passion
The dark side of the moon

His tortured heart
His tortured soul
He had nothing left
He could give no more

A life now unfocused
Completely unfulfilled
Long gone is inspiration
The soul absolutely still

Are you really quite content?
Within a life bitterness spent
Hurt memories and souring pain
Tell me what is there to gain?

This passionate burning love
Was just never meant to be
Fate will lead you down the path
Of how your life should be

Cast away shadows
Let them fade into night
Out of the darkness
Can only come light

Stop tearing at your heart
Think of a new life
A new start
One of which you are a part

STOP TEARING AT YOUR HEART

Such a powerful message within these lines; it is hard to move on when you have given someone your heart and soul and then been cast aside but until you can leave it behind you are only hurting yourself. A lovely poem which reminds us that something not meant to be will never be ..

Thanks Stella - this was a male friend of mine who was only interested in one woman (NOT MANY LIKE THAT) he vowed there would never be anyone but her in his life - maybe one day his wish will come true he has waited 5 years already and purely does nothing but work - so sad
