(A Shadow Sonnet)

When I write with silver strand moonbeams, when
you yearn for me in moonrise I’ll find you.
Then sate your pen with ink well of rose, then
Imbue cloudscape with passion puffs, imbue.

Bring paper cream dreams on wings of love, bring
Gift wrap, nib me in the bud of your gift.
Spring kissed with eau de cologne breath of Spring,
Drift me on bluebird skies, scribe of my drift.

See! how our first eyelift-look locked love, see
How I dotted your violet eyes mauve, how
We flourished with poetry’s ode and we
Now have pledged vows to honour our love now.

Names signed in calligraphy both our names
Flames of sonnet’s rose ink, these are our flames!

And what beautiful romantic flames they are that burn in hearts with rose ink.

A most endearing sonnet Karin, wonderful poetic language and alliteration make this a favourite..

What an absolute treat this fabulous write is, Karin. So soft and romantic, a sheer joy to behold, Ma'am. Each line and stanza accentuates the blossoming love that is so felt. Your third stanza sings so majestically! "See! how our first eyelift-look locked love, see / How I dotted your violet eyes mauve, how / We flourished with poetry’s ode and we / Now have pledged vows to honour our love now". Pure brilliance! I am in awe, Karin.
