I called to the moon
“It’s only me” I whispered
and the clouds parted
as moonbeams shone a staircase
for me to play with the stars

Have to admit never heard of tanka - that is where I go wrong never heard of the phrases I am basically 'Free verse' But I was correct what I write is not to the standard of the people on your site.,
and does not sit comfortable with them, but I am not a true poet in the sense of the word.
Will do a book to leave with family history records and hope one day it will be followed through.
Do youi still want me to put poetry on your site, and if so would you prefer me to send it to you 1st.

Oh Anne, of course i want you to put your poems on this site, whether they are in free-verse or in form, you have enriched my site and i would not wish to see you leave.

A delightful tanka with beautiful imagery as always. It is lovely to read more of your poetry and your name Stella meaning 'star' is a perfect for you indeed Stella.
