In 1953, when the coronation came,
Elizabeth was crowned the queen;
England would never be the same,
it's glory shone.. before its wane.
Sir Edmund climbed the highest peak,
Why? Because the thing was there!
for Britain's fame that week,
for her honor he did seek.
And the sun, it kept on shining,
for her wealth and for her land;
her great courage was still binding,
the strong will was still unwinding.
In the eerie fog of London town,
the people stood quite tall;
the Nazis never brought her down,
they could not take its crown.
Churchill gave the people hope,
to fight the fearsome foe;
must not sit around and mope,
with Winston, they did cope.
