Summer Clings (Choka)

Trampled beneath feet
Yellow, Brown and bleeding leaves
Occasional green
Summer snared on random boughs
Leaching sunny dreams
Warm smiles on friendly faces
Tenacious season
Clings like gum to my faint soul
It's scent in the autumn air.

Hi Cindy, it is lovely to see you introduce a new format to the site, i like this very much it's not unlike a tanka poem but more interesting and you have included in it some wonderful imagery..

i hope things are getting better for you and yours :)

A most impressive Choka, as I have not seen one before, and I can imagine it all through your beautiful descriptive images Cindy.

Nice Choka. Perfectly constructed and with some great imagery. I particularly like 'Summer snared on random boughs'. Well done.

You capture the season's tenacity so well with this interesting form Cindy - love the feel of summer clinging and "snared on random boughs" - great read.
