In Remembrance ~ tanka poem

Bravest of the brave
we remember you today
bringers of freedom
courageous young men fighting
that the world might live in peace
Freedom a promise
for future generations
an end to all wars
for this you gave your future
unselfishly and freely
Today red poppies
we wear in tribute to you
flowers for lives lost
each one so dear and precious
in silence we remember.
