A Soldier’s Prayer ~ minute Poem

At close of one dark war torn day
I heard him pray
“End this discord
please take me Lord
my pure life’s blood is almost bled
my brothers dead
there’s naught to gain
from all this pain
my duty done let me escape
for war is rape
it wants my soul
please keep me whole”

So poignantly written and you excel with this Minute poem for its strong rhyme and heartbreaking content Stella. So sad and what really did it for me is 'for war is rape, it wants my soul.'
