Winters Grace
Winter comes calling ~ Time to light the fire
Snuggle into that cosy blanket
And watch the world outside
Once again snow covered ground
So stilled ~ no sound
Creating a mystical beauty all its own
The earth seems quiet ~yet somehow alive
Fashioned in shimmering delight
Perfect like an illusion painted from the sky
Peeping through my window
at snow covered ground
Isolated ~ all alone
Was this really me! where had life gone?
It seemed like only yesterday I played
With my children ~ such fun
Building a snowman
Leaving our footprints in the snow
Was it really so long ago?
The once bright fire is dimming
A slight chill fills the air
It's time to make my way upstairs
A hot toddy
An evening prayer
Tucked up all cosy and warm
I lie with my memories of time long ago
My eyes closing ~ sleep says hello
