I Knew

He made a lonely, soft silhouette
in the doorway
against the bright rising sun,
but i knew the eagerness
of those green eyes still lingered,
that even now blindly facing the light
just one more time
he was again making love with me.
Standing in his own shadow quietly
staring i knew he was lost
in those precious moments of the all
enchanting silence
of the night that the sun was now
so cruelly trying to steal away
from him.
