Just For You Poetry

Were you ever in my arms?
or was it all a dream?
did I ever taste your lips?
life's not the way it seems.

Was it all a vast charade?
the longing and the wooing?
was love ever in the picture,
did we know what we were doing?

You were young and vibrant,
I was taken by your charms;
lost in dreams of love,
smothered in your arms.

There was no hesitation,
as we danced the night away;
laughing, singing, talking,
to each rhythm we did sway.

Yes, you were in my arms,
then, you faded from my view;
like a waning dream, forgotten,
all the love we ever knew.
