Just For You Poetry

You took my hand and kissed my cheek
when I wanted to run away,
what on earth would all our friends think?
We had only just met that day.

It was the first time I knew my heart
could flutter in my chest so strong.
Very soon you were my hero
and where you went I tagged along

I loved it when you stroked my hair,
in time I rather hoped you might
kiss my lips as well as my cheek
it became my dream, my delight.

Now we look back upon those days,
sweet lovely memories to adore,
you take my hand and kiss my cheek
just like you did when we were four.
