Too Late

Let bygones be bygones,
As the old saying goes,
His wife upped and moved on,
Leaving behind her woes.

She hoped, a new city
Would help her to forget,
His wrath and others pity.
Her life clock she'd reset.

But he would not let go,
He was sure she'd come back,
To massage his ego.
Then, of time, he lost track.

Age soon took hold of him,
His gait became slower.
He no longer looked trim,
He would only glower.

The angel of death stopped
Right outside his main door.
A bombshell, she dropped
He'd have to up his score.

His wrongs outweighed his rights,
He was well within hell's range
And no berth on heaven flights,
He begged for time to change.

But she remained adamant -
When it's your time,it's your time,
He became more pliant,
He would lead a life sublime.

As she took him in her arms,
His nursemaid rushed to his bed
On hearing beeping alarms
But 'twas too late, he was dead.

Hi Sandra, and a warm welcome back .

A good lesson you have penned for us in a lovely rhyming way of not leaving it too late to think of others and the way you treat them.
This guy it seems just couldn't see the error of his ways until it was much too late

I can't get rid of the wrong title but at least the next poem you post you know now to go to "Community Poems " first and then look for the "New Topic" to click on...

I know it seems difficult at first but you soon remember how to work the site , and it is lovely to see you posting again :D

How lovely it is to see you on Stella's poetry site and I welcome you back too. If you have problems Stella will always help you like she has helped me.
It is great to see your work again and it looks like his karma got the better of him but some people have to learn the very hard way! Your story telling has always been really interesting in your poems Sandra.
