Brush and Bow

Postby Tom Balch » Tue Nov 25, 2014 10:56 pm

Blossom of almond
paints the hill
with laden brush-stroke magic,

pink pastel colours merge softly with
the olive fields of green
and all around joyously playing
springtime strings that lift the heart,

the sweetest sound of violins
the artist and composer,
Monet and Vivaldi
joined with nature
weaving brush and bow.

Oh this is so beautiful Tom, the imagery is gorgeous and your chosen artists so gifted and creative in their own right... a monet painting to see with the strains of Vivaldi playing is in my mind.. what a beautiful combination.

Yes, this is so beautiful. It's quite fascinating how the arts intersect, even with nature. I know a piece composed by Yanni called "one Man's Dream" (I believe). It's thrilling to watch a storm while listening to it. The music moves with the tree tops and sweeps away with the drifting snow or bursts of rain. Like he must have been watching a storm when he composed it. It's no surprise to me that music can also match a piece of artwork the same way. Though it hadn't occurred to me. Yes, the brush strokes also could follow the wind and other movements in nature. So very fascinating! Just the thought of it. Love this poem.

Poetry like this makes one feel it is a joy to be alive especially, with Monet and Vivaldi being featured. I have just finished watching a Monet video not knowing this treat was in store for me too thank you Tom.

Melding art with poetry in this brush and bow magic makes a read of sheer delight Tom. Top drawer writing.
