Winter Hiker

Streaks of colour stretch across
an opaque winter sky
and salmon coloured wisps of cloud
are slowly drifting by,
the crunch of frost with every step
through this winter wonderland
brings endless joy to this wandering soul
in this pure white untouched land.

A beautiful description of your winter walk Tom, there is nothing at all as serene and peaceful as the hush of a winter morning when the snowfall is fresh on the ground..

A really calming and lovely poem..

I love the pretty scene you've painted here. I used to love walking in the wintery woods. Your poem reminds me of those walks. Very nice.

Lovely "crunch" of a walk you describe here Tom and although I have enjoyed reading it as much as you had joy in walking it, walks in snow are not for me. Brrrrr!

Your first line drew me right into this beautifully written poem and it feels magical to me, and the "crunch" really did it for me for some reason thank you Tom.

Beautiful, I was right there, so vivid and descriptive...kind of euphoric.

A poem as pure as the driven snow.Brief, but a real beauty-great,flowing cadence-perfect rhyme and a joy to read
