All in Vain

Postby Noodlehead1997 » Sun Nov 30, 2014 10:54 pm

I was hit with it all of a sudden
Like a thunderbolt out of the Blue
My temperature soared, my heart missed a beat
And my blood boiled like some kind of brew.

I knew it wasn’t contagious
I had hoped it was all in my mind
So I locked parts of me in the Tower
And falsified life of kind.

Poor little heart in the Tower
Poor tortured soul in the dark
While the mind thought the same thing forever
The body put on a good act.

Then one day, the heart and soul
Through the labyrinth of the mind
Came to me and entered
While I screamed and kicked inside.

You must give in, and let us in
Don’t just exist and cry
We’re your friends, lets face it
Without us: You will die!

We’ve watched your so called happiness
Your acting: a second rate play
But, you're the one that's been locked in a tower
For four years and a day

Let’s all pull together
In time we’ll see it through
It’s no fun feeling like a fool
This life is not for you!

You have to be yourself, not hide away in some tower wearing a mask.

Your heart and soul must be free so let them be your best friends and life will not be in vain..

Ah - I just love the clever flow to this poem - your rhyming gives style to the read and the message contained in the lines is so needed - - hiding away is not going to pay any dividends at all. Facing reality and then moving on is the answer dear friend. A great read.

Greatflow, cadence and even rhyme. You put much depth of thought in this. Come on out of hiding and move on. You are doing just great.

A true friend will kick that door down in order to bring assistance in our most dire of times, Ma'am. Whilst our hearts are steeped in sorrow and we put on airs and a facade of false joy, our true friends will know and do their utmost to reach us. An engaging write that speaks to the truth of the depth of sorrows known, and of the strength to be found in the relationships we have.
