After All

...and as we go through
boxes of decorations
baubles and lights
we pause to feel
the emptiness
left by those we´ve lost
this year,
those we shared
such good times with
those we loved so dear,
we´ll raise a glass
toast their names
include them in our day,

after all, that´s what
Christmases are for...

What a lovely thought Tom, indeed we will miss all those who left us this year..what better time than Christmas to raise a toast to them .... Recalling all the good times spent together...

Tom your warm heart shows through this poetic tribute to the loved ones we have recently lost. A sharing of good times has arrived with this season and thanks for the good advice not to forget of what Christmas reminds us.

This poem feels inviting and warm. Thoughts of loved ones and friends can never be far at Christmas. Embracing their memories makes the holidays richer and more vibrant. Like hanging more baubles on the tree or adding another string of lights. May the faces of those you lost shine in your memory this Christmas and forever.

Christmas is the time when we send cards and meet up with family and friends, saving a few moments to remember those that are not with us now is a lovely and caring thing to do.

Memories are precious and raising a toast to loved ones on Christmas day is a wonderful remembrance to them.
