The Christmas Party

Little boy dressed as an elf
his sister a Christmas tree
all ready for a party
and oh, what fun that will be.

With lots of crackers to pull,
pretty paper hats to wear,
Jolly Santa songs playing
I wonder, “Will he be there?”

Children sit in a circle
as the Christmas story is told
all are listening eagerly
for the wonder to unfold.

Then it’s time for sausage rolls
orange jelly, and ice-cream,
outside they hear some sleigh bells
each little child’s Christmas dream.

Snowflakes are falling gently
as Santa comes with his sack
he is wearing his red cloak
the children laugh , he smiles back.

Now is the special moment
he sits each child on his knee
asks what they want for Christmas
“Are they good as they can be?”

A present from his red sack
and then he is on his way.
He waves, and shouts ”Ho ho ho,
I’ll be back on Christmas Day”.
