A Christmas Sonnet

As twinkling baubles light up Christmas trees
and festive gifts for loved ones lay beneath,
a kiss ‘neath mistletoe is sure to please
and on the door a pretty holly wreath.

Yew logs are burning on an open fire
as children gather round their faces glow,
and outside carols sung sweet by a choir
so lovely in the hush of falling snow.

Placed on the mantleshelf a holy scene
and candles in the window welcome all.
A Christmas cake is iced red, white and green
as greeting card displays hang on the wall.

This ev’ning is the time of Holy Night,
and in the sky a star is shining bright.

You portray the holy occasion so well Stella - - a peaceful feeling caresses the senses after reading this lovely verse. Thank you for the wonderful accompaniment too.

A glorious Christmas Sonnet and Il Divo are the perfect choice to give it yet another rich layer. The "hush of Christmas snow" did it for me, as I have never witnessed a white Christmas thank you Stella.
