A dear friend who had been suffering for the past year passed away an hour ago - We watched her struggle ...

She fought her war with death with bravery.
Scorning each time it raised its ugly face.
In her heart, there was not a single trace
Of anger or feelings unsavoury.

First it was a misbehaving liver,
That caused her terrible pain and grief.
Medication gave her little relief.
But in God she was a great believer.

She let surgeons wield their scalpels freely,
On the promise of a new lease of life.
In truth they only caused more pain and strife,
Friends and family watched her helplessly.

Today, the Angel of Death embraced her
She breathed her last without knowing fear
