when nothing changes

Postby Nightmute » Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:02 pm

feel these eyes, my Love.

reach out and run your hands
over a face that beckons your touch,
that has been irrevocably changed
for the better by you, my wife.

take upon yourself the need
to reach out with your softest hands
and indulge in the touch of my skin,
my sockets surely waiting as your
fingerprints make their slow, delicious
way up, acclivitously higher to my orbs of blue.

lids closed, and in anticipation,
a shiver strikes out, from the epicenter
of a soul made ready to feel nothing
but you, and your ample, soft, and keen touch.

feel these eyes, my Love,
and know that even as you apply
only the slightest pressure upon
lids made to stay awake at night
in worry, in love, in joy so sphere-encompassing,
oh, please know that i am in love with you.

unchanged, and how this heart
races, bursting forth out of a gate
that cannot hope to hold back my vitality,
my need to feel those smallest of wonderful
fingers caressing my brow, swabbing
away my tears, wiping away from my cheek
the grime of the day that i gladly take on
so that you are ever provided for, my Love.

feel the shape of my eyes.
how my lashes bristle at the mere
thought of being made to be separated from you,
even if only for a brief span of time that the
world counts in hours, yet this heart of mine
views as an eternity, and only your fingers,
that remove from me the wariness of a world
gone utterly, insanely mad, can hope to give
unto me a peace that i do not deserve.

no change, this heart, or, if changed,
then only to a greater degree is my love
for you, my wife, in whom i place my uttermost hope.

no. a degradation of my chambered heart
will not occur, no matter the circumstances
arranged and sought after by a world
whose scoffing view of us i rightly dismiss out of hand;
for the fullness of my being is predicated
on the feel, touch, and taste of your most
gentle hand and mouth, whose lips wend
down this neck of mine, made only to shudder
at the trail of gossamer tracings you leave
up and down my whole, sweat-enlivened body.

oh, my Love, i shall never surrender
the magnificence you bring to this man
who suffers, without end, when not
within the proximity of your perfection.

and i am unchanged, and i am honored
to hold you next to this heart that speaks
of you, and only you, my wife.

come then, and feel these eyes,
and know only that these simple,
blue orbs stare into your own soul-stirring stare;
and, thus, they shall find us, one day,
together, melded and without separation,
with a smile firmly fixed to our features.

ah, allow them to find us, thusly, my Love,
and let them write songs of who and what
we are, and how whole worlds came into being
by no other means than by the conjoining of
the two of us, held ever-so tightly, together.

unchanged, and these eyes look only
upon the form that is, and always will be,

you, my wife.

feel these eyes, of simple blue,
and know, my Love, that such is true.

always.

They say that blue eyes are "true" eyes Richard, and they are also the windows to the soul.

Your dearest wife and yourself must be at one inside those windows for this is a truly beautiful poem, and the affirmation of your eternal love for her knows no bounds..

Welcome to our site , it is a great pleasure to see your poetry here my friend..

How wonderful it is to see you on Stella's site Richard and thank you for sharing with me. This is a glorious Dedication to your wife, and this poem is one of the most beautifulest poems I have ever read. Blue eyes as a metaphor are the deepest pools of love, and your closing rhyming couplets are an honest declaration of devotion to your dear wife Richard.

A truly amazing poem on real love - - to say it is romantic is dishonouring the devotion I read in each of these lines Richard - - love such as this is eternally true and thank you for sharing it here with us my friend. May you and your beloved enjoy a very Happy New Year.

This is exceedingly lovely. It's wonderful that your wife knows she is treasured so highly. It can seem such a rare thing these days. It's so great to see you here to share your poetry with us.
