From Behind the Walls - A Prisoner's Song

Postby apoetwholovestosing » Sat Dec 27, 2014 9:30 pm

Looking from the inside out,
fall is locked away, her leaves
blow as her winds echo
your smile,
they have the same chill.

I could really feel the chill in this sad song Dorothy and it immediately put a picture in my mind as the wind echoed. One of your best Dorothy and it could be called a Tanka poem as modern Tanka does not specify a certain syllable count.

Locked away like leaves trapped in the icy cell of winter winds. A smile as cold as that? What a great metaphor!

A cutting verse, Dorothy, that pierces the heart truly, Ma'am. Beautifully written, indeed.
