I could really feel the chill in this sad song Dorothy and it immediately put a picture in my mind as the wind echoed. One of your best Dorothy and it could be called a Tanka poem as modern Tanka does not specify a certain syllable count.

Locked away like leaves trapped in the icy cell of winter winds. A smile as cold as that? What a great metaphor!
