Places You Won't Find My Cellphone

Not in private, not in bed,
the wedded bliss will not be fed
by such.

No ubiquitous keys will find my touch.

Mobile is as mobile does,
tying strings that cut and buzz
your life;

I’ll not be made to know such strife.

Tablets, pads, and newest trends
cause friction, removing calm, rescinds
much peace;

once allowed an entry, it'll never cease.

So, tie me down, without restraint,
to wondrous matters, without the taint
of strings;

I'm simple when it comes to these things.

Simple is the best way to live .

These technical gadgets are addictive...and no replacement for the warmth of a marital bed....

How simple but fulfilled life can be if only we allow it Richard.

There's a time and place for everything, as they say. :-) I like the poem.

Yes Richard these gizmos can be addictive... I must admit that I am often a victim

Ah yes! I have too many of these trinkets with the promise from the grandchildren that they will "Be over soon" to explain how to use them. Of course they never have time to teach but will do the action for you instead. Yes, regretfully I have fallen into the trap and I have just thought about what my New Years Promise to myself should be...NO NEW GAGETS!...after I get the recorder that changes VCR tapes to DVD's. They are so annoyingly ubiquitous nowadays - can't go to a decent concert/gig now without someone shoving a tablet or phone into the face of the performer - :evil: I think there should be 5 minutes at the start of a concert for these photos then if you get caught waving one around - you get chucked out until the break as a lesson. Now.. rant over... who'd like a cup of tea?
This is on the money dear writer absolutely on the money.Bravo

This stands alone as a wonderful poem and certainly one to get the reader thinking about their own gadget filled lives. Nicely done Richard. Love the
"I’ll not be made to know such strife" line.

This really strikes a chord - how ubiquitous these gadgets and how they rob one of quiet and piece - well said!

This is so true and I totally agree. Well done as we do need some time to get our thoughts together, without being hassled by constant phone calls
or newest trends. Top marks for this one Richard!
