(A Shadow Sonnet)

Dreams, moonflowers open debutante’s Dreams
Where lovers share heart beats of lost time, Where
Streams glide down the star’s staircase, and deep Streams
Share full moon’s pulling of her soul, yes Share.

Songs of romance shimmy her silk skin, Song’s
Wings like ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ give her Wings.
Belongs, she holds her beau like she Belongs,
Clings, yet clings to her engagement ring, Clings!

Love from Mother Moon’s pearlescent light, Love
Glows but swashes rainbows from evening’s Glows.
Glove, she’s eighteen, holds spring buds with a Glove.
Beau of her heart once owned this glove, her Beau!

For moonflowers burst deep pain and die, For
War her beau is killed with a lost glove, War!

Oh, how beautiful Karin, beautifully penned in this exquisite form and full of alliteration too.

How sad the ending, but how wondeful the moonflowers of her dreams, such a shame that he should have to die

The highest of highs and then the lowest of lows are realized by this debutante whose beau is lost to her, Karin. A stunning form, Ma'am, which you put to exquisite use in capturing the utmost joys known, and then the floor drops out. Why must war interfere so rashly and wantonly? A beautiful and grand vision you give us with this stupendous penning, Karin.
