Olympiad-2012

Postby Joseph Anderson » Thu Jan 15, 2015 4:49 pm

To London towne they came to play
and this they did, day after day;
Envisioned with a storied past,
the stage was set for glories vast.

The crowds were huge, the spirits light,
the weather never sent it's blight;
No terrorism reared it's head,
'twas peace and joy and cheer instead.

They came from near, they came from far,
they came and played to raise the bar
and this they did, with records set
and memories they'll ne'er forget.

Through glories tall and visions bold,
Olde England surely won the gold.

Perhaps, outdated this is about a grand and
glorious event-2012

Wonderful Joseph, outdated... never.

The English people really enjoyed hosting the games and i am sure many lifetime friendships were forged on the fields and in the stadiums.

With England hosting the games,what a memorable event it is for you and Stella, and a great subject to write about. What really caught my eye is in the second stanza about terrorism, as it is a word that is being used more often now and let's hope it calms down soon. I appreciate your rhyming couplets and the love and pride you have for your country Joseph.
