I've walked that woodland path before
When once, my mortal frame I wore
I know the individual tree
The moss
The fern
The filigree
Of filtered sunlight through the veil
I know
I lived
I walked the trail
Once it was with mortal frame
And at that time, you never came
Just flora, fauna
And the sun
I came alone
The only one
That was then, but still I go
Along that path
The one I know
And there you are
At times, I've seen
I watch you walk along and dream
You come alone and never see
The mortal frame that once was me
But there I am as you pass by
In morning mist or evening sigh
And even once with drop of dew
Just one drop
And just for you
I placed it on your cheek, a kiss
Alas, you thought it just the mist
So more alone than I was then
Dwelling on what could have been
My restless spirit walks by night
In hopes you'll see my lonely light.
