in
grief
silence
becomes her
natural beauty
but she sees only the darkness
whilst others see only her exquisite perfection.

This is a beautiful poem and a beautiful picture. I'm quite impressed with your talents. I'd never heard the term "ekphrastic poetry" before. It's nice to learn something new.

This painting adds a deeper meaning to your poetry and I appreciate how we can have ekphrastic expressions on your site Stella. As I look closer at the picture I can see your name on the picture so you must have painted this too! You are a very talented lady Stella.

That is a gorgeous painting, Stella. Wow, your talent knows no bounds, my friend. The poem, accompanied by that awesome painting, really gives depth to the emotions being felt. I love how you give the two viewpoints in this write, Ma'am....she, who "sees only the darkness", and those others, who, looking upon her features and form, "see only her exquisite perfection". She, who is in grief, has that inward stare while those others see only the physical world around them, not sensing, perhaps, her melancholia. This is great art, Stella.
