Sleep Dreamer's Lullaby Fall

Postby Karin Anderson » Mon Oct 27, 2014 9:29 am

On sleep dreamer’s edge
flashes of prismatic light
flicker on whitewash spume
to dreamer’s watercolour fall
as angel fish dart and zigzag
to a quicksilver migraine.

Headache flickers shimmers
as sea star’s tiny tubular feet
rip from bed’s deep comfort
and are caught in coral’s pink
spectrum from hibiscus
to blushed rest of sunset.

Only buoyant sky knows sun
was asleep rolling on horizon’s
goldthread as a mending needle
pricked sun, spilling red splashes
falling to tangerine hands
to help embrace the sundown.

Dreamer’s toes slither into
a floating yellow-green gown
curling into a warm pool’s lap
as kaleidoscope’s watercolours
float in dreamer’s timeless night
to lullaby a time strangled day.

Welcome Karin, it is a pleasure to see your most beautiful poetry on this site, and what a most endearing write this is.

Each verse leading into the next with enchanting, dreamy imagery.. i keep seeing the angel fish darting here and there as they do, and the splashes of colour pricked from the sleeping sun. Magical indeed.. :D

Karin- You dont seem to need rhyme to get your message across.Your free verse is many miles ahead of most I read.It must be something
in that Australian atmosphere that favors fine poetry. The only problem is, you dont post enough
