Gleaming warmth from twilight
sweet soothes my aching soul
yet leaves me much too soon
coaxing fearful night chills
to find me twixt sad sheets
beneath the midnight sky

Low moon-talk steals sleep
and bright twinkling stars
spellbind these tired eyes
how restless the night
midnight wakefulness

Shadows that haunt
dance on cold walls
nightmares beckon
aloneness weeps

Teardrops fall
pillows damp
missing love

In dreams
I find

You

That feeling of being alone comes through so clearly through this write, Stella. The desire for sleep to come so that we can bathe in the memories of the one we are missing, and yet the night almost seems to hold back the sleep we so long for. Beautiful write in a wonderful format, Stella.
