Suddenly.

Postby Fay Slimm » Thu Jan 29, 2015 11:20 am

Image

Trapped in a strong net
of kith and kin,
environment holds her
by the throat.
Composure stifles life
held within,
ignited only when she
writes poetry.

Gone then her nervous
impediment,
stripped of stress she
floats dutyless
on streams of verses
nakedly penned,
unafraid and suddenly
beautiful.

It is freedom, indeed, Fay...this gift of writing, of penning one's soul and heart. We are sometimes smothered by all that is going on around us, and by those who surround us, Ma'am. A bit of 'Me' time, spent with pen and paper, can dramatically free us from the stresses that abound.

This is so true Fay, when i was at an all time low years ago someone told me to write how i felt, and i did ..it was like i had opened up and shared my
grief, and then i wrote letters to myself about what to do, what i wanted. It might sound silly but it saved my sanity through those dark days and nights.

Poetry can do magic in releasing a trapped soul to become creatively free. I am sure many poets can relate to this beautifully crafted write Fay.

The external stresses placed upon us float magically away when it is we allow ourselves to venture forth through pen and ink while our inner voice sings with such a beautiful voice, Fay. We needn't be made to be crippled by the burdens others seek to place upon us constantly, my friend, and you capture this feeling of freedom so wonderfully. God bless you, and keep that ink flowing, my friend.
