Too Late

One click and your words come to me
Black and white
Still saying what you meant them to say

I never knew you
Unaware of your real name
Now you are only legend
I came a little too late

I read in silence
Unable to give a voice to the dead
In mourning for one I never knew
Your poems flow like tears into my heart.

Poetry does this,
it connects us to people through their words, they touch our hearts and souls and we feel as though those words were written for us, often we can cry with joy or sadness and it is a complete stranger than give rise to these emotions within us.

It takes one's breath away to realize just how much beauty we have missed, and the potential of missing even more soul-searing beauty due to circumstance and happenstance, Cindy. Nonetheless, we should celebrate that the world contains such an abundance of creativity and a wealth of such stunning beauty, Ma'am.

This is beautiful and moving. One we can relate to ...we read poetry and know so much about the poets through writing yet never really meet them, their words can touch the soul. A lovely pen, your poetry is succinct and simple yet so rich in meaning.
