He's A Loner

Look! A man is standing yonder,
standing firmly, but alone;
With a plan as bold as thunder,
one, our group does not condone.

His plan bids him never tarry
with our lures of worldly worth,
so his dreams will never parry
visions of material girth.

To our church he ne'er comes dwelling,
yet his morals show much care.
Though the streets of vice keep swelling,
they are not his thoroughfare.

There is fullness brewed from thinking
that denies our banal play.
From this broth he is found drinking,
oft, along his thirsting way.

Past the bonds that bind a percher
o'er our walls of social stare,
his faith bids him be a searcher
ere he sink in aimless care.

We may never change his manner
as he shuns our social code;
For this most uncommon planner
walks so firmly down his road.

A most unusual man

I think we all know a few like him. :-) I love your choice of words throughout this wonderful poem. A classic for sure.

An interesting write on a namless man... As Cindy says many of us would have come into contact with such a person... Great poetry as usual!

A most intriguing write, yet people who conform can be boring to someone like this unusual man, who prefers to to live just how he wants to. I love the rhythmic rhyme, and how you built his character through your great vocabulary thank you Joseph.
