from our balcony
Jungfrau in her white mantle
evening splendour
and in the cool crisp morning
wake to the sound of cow bells

This has a very peaceful feel to it. I like it.

Ken, I am so glad to see you posting here so we can learn from you. In advance, I am looking forward to your tutorials on the wonders of Japanese forms of poetry so please may we have your guidance and thoughts. Mountains and forests are my favourite aspects of nature, although most of my attempts on the subject matter have been about wild animals in an alliterative/acrostic format (which I call Aruaku). Your write here is a lovely combination of a mountain, bell chimes and cows - one couldn't get more perfect than that!

How wonderful to have that perfect picture of waking to a white-mantled mountain and cow bells - the tanka form suits this write on nature so well. Good to see you posting here Ken.
